5:15am – Watauga County Communications dispatch office reports 421 covered in places and secondary roads are snow covered.

High Wind Warning and Wind Chill Advisory remains in effect until noon today.

Peak wind gust, so far, of 56mph overnight in Boone at 2:55am.

6am – no reports of accidents or major delays due to snow covered roads as of yet.

6:40am – Power outages: 62 Watauga, 35 Ashe.

6:45am – have not received, or heard scanner reports, of any major travel delays/accidents this morning. Early morning reports were main roads at least snow covered in places with secondary and gravel roads covered.

11am – Wind Chill Advisory and High Wind Warning have been cancelled by NWS. Winds continue to gust above 30mph with a peak gust of 58 mph at 6:55am in Boone.  

A local business in Boone is passing along that one of their signs was ripped off the building and carried down the road by the wind. The sign was 4 and half feet high and 7 foot wide and was attached to the building.
