A rollover accident closed a section of highway 105 in Foscoe early Thursday evening.

The accident, dispatched out at 5:29 pm, near Grandfather Farms Road, led to the closure according to scanner dispatches at the time. Black ice appeared to be the cause of the wreck, according to scanner traffic from a Foscoe Fire Department member on the scene. Foscoe Fire Department assisted with traffic control in the area, to allow at least one lane of traffic to flow, and was still on the scene as of 7:55 pm

An NCDOT truck was requested to salt the area due to the amount of ice. Watauga Medics responded to the scene for transport. No information was immediately available about the condition of the occupant(s).

A wreck was also reported around the same time on highway 321, between Boone and Blowing Rock, at Edmisten Road. According to an incoming report to WataugaOnline.com, there was ice on the road just before the curve. No other information about that wreck was immediately available as of Thursday evening.

Another accident was reported along a section of Deerfield Road also shortly before 6 pm. According to an incoming report to WataugaOnline.com, there was black ice in the area.
