Multiple Fire Departments Respond To Structure Fire In Powder Horn Mountain

Multiple fire departments were dispatched to a structure fire in the Powder Horn Mountain subdivision on Tuesday morning.

The structure, at 378 Horse Shoe Ridge Road East, was vacant at the time. and no one has lived at the home for about 3-4 years, according to Watauga County Fire Marshal Taylor Marsh

The structure is a total loss and due to the first floor and roof system collapsing into the basement the investigation could take several days to complete, Marsh tells WataugaOnline.com.

A powder horn resident noticed the fire and called 911.  Responding units were Stewart Simmons Fire Department, Deep Gap Fire Department, Ferguson Fire Department, Watauga Fire Marshal Office, Watauga Medics, Watauga Rescue, and Boone Fire.
