Governor Roy Cooper has ordered all United States and North Carolina flags at state facilities to be lowered to half-staff today, April 18, 2018 until sunset on April 20, 2018, in honor of the passing of former First Lady Barbara Bush.
“Barbara Bush was an inspiration for millions of Americans and families around the world. As First Lady, she was a role model for so many to follow and her work to expand literacy made an enduring impact,” said Governor Cooper. “Mrs. Bush's leadership and example will be greatly missed and our prayers are with her and the entire Bush family today.”
