Ice, Snow & Bitterly Cold Temperatures On Tuesday Nov 27, 2018

Snow, ice and the coldest temperatures since March is the local weather story for Tuesday.

The winter weather lead to the closing of Watauga County Schools for the fourth time this school year.

After a high of 27 at midnight, temperatures dropped to the lower 20's where they stayed all day. Single digit above zero wind chills were recorded starting at 3:55 am and also lasting all day. A Winter Chill Advisory is in effect from 8pm tonight until 8am Wednesday. The National Weather says that wind chills as low as 5 to 10 below zero are expected.

Snow and ice was reported into the WataugaOnline.com Facebook page and Twitter outlet. Below are some of the incoming reports.
