Grayson Highlands State Park In Virginia Closes Trails Due To Bear Activity

UPDATE Monday June 18, 2018 – An update on the Grayson Highlands website now says that The Cabin Creek Trail and Horse Trail Connector to Massie Gap will be closed until further notice due to elevated bear activity.


A popular regional state park has closed all trails due to bear activity.

According to an alert on the Grayson Highlands State Park website the trails are closed until further notice. WJHL-TV reports that on Saturday night park officials said the campgrounds and visitors center were still operating as usual.

The park is on U.S. 58 midway between Independence and Damascus in Virginia.
