Welcome to the newest and ONLY resource of its kind for High Country motorist and travelers. This site has been created after the tremendous success of our facebook page, which started on December 13, 2010 and quickly gained over 4000 “likes” in less than the first 4 weeks.
Since that time the facebook page is approaching 6000 “likes” and the twitter followers are over 600. With so much information being passed along it only made sense to provide a central location to house the pictures, videos and reports.
Here are some of the exciting features of this site:
Using your facebook,twitter, wordpress, google (and other) accounts you can log in to leave comments and information. Don't have any of the above accounts? No problem, you can still submit and view information.
The map feature on the front page keeps you up-to-date visually on road projects in Watauga and the region!
Submit weather, traffic reports and pictures straight from the site!
When you are away from your computer you can text reports to us!
The facebook page has covered everything from winter weather to rain/floods to major forest fires to the earthquake in August 2011 to accidents and construction projects that effect Watauga County and the High Country counties. We will continue that commitment on this site.
