Winds were whipping over the weekend as many residents and visitors took notice of.
The National Weather Service issued a wind advisory from Friday afternoon until noon Saturday. Boone officially recorded peak gust of 40 mph on Friday, and 43 mph on Saturday. Grandfather Mountain posted a gust of 88.5 on Saturday.
