9 degrees with wind chill of -10 in Boone at 5:20am

5:50am – main roads are in good shape according to Watauga County dispatch office. Secondary roads vary from fully to partial snow covered, gravel roads are snow covered. DOT has been out treating roads all night and as of this time no major accidents or travel issues reported.  Extremely cold this morning with single digit temps and wind chills below zero.

All ASU classes that meet before 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 22 have been cancelled.

AppalCART will be on a delayed scheduled with routes starting at 10am.

8 above in Boone at 6:30am with wind chill of -13, meanwhile in Anchorage Alaska it's 34 degrees.

-34 degree wind chill on Grandfather Mtn at 6:32am

8am – no major changes since the 5:50am update. Main roads are in good shape, secondary roads vary from fully to partial snow covered, gravel roads are snow covered. No major travel issues reported. Wind chills will be the main issue today with values as low as 20 below.

11:30am -  all AppalCART routes are on regular schedule with the exception of the Green Route can not service Old Bristol Road.
