A woman with a High Country connection appeared on The Kelly Clarkson Show on Friday.

Tiffany Phipps McDaniel's appearance came about due to her work selling “imperfect Christmas trees” to help a tree farm devastated by Hurricane Helene. McDaniel is originally from Boone but has lived in the Greensboro area for the last 18 years.

McDaniel tells WataugaOnline.com, “So I saw a TikTok from Avery Farms about the devastation from Helene. I reached out asking if I could help by selling their imperfect flood trees. They ended up bringing 160 and a friend of mine, Laurie Califf, offered her church to sell them. The church ended up buying all the trees outright and the day after Thanksgiving me and the girls sat outside and sold the trees. Greensboro neighbors and friends were so excited to help!!”

She added that a news outlet in Greenboro did a story about it which helped her get the word out. A producer of Kelly Clarkson's show called her last week to set up the appearance. McDaniel was also interviewed by the Washinton Post this week.
