BLOWING ROCK — The Town of Blowing Rock is preparing for waterline work on Park Avenue to begin Monday, Oct. 12, according to the town’s weekly “Message from the Manager.”
WORK STARTING MONDAY
The Park Avenue waterline and hydrant replacement is scheduled to begin Monday, Oct. 12, after a project walk-through with the contractor on Thursday. The project replaces the 4-inch cast iron line with a 6-inch ductile iron line and was projected earlier this month to take about three weeks.
Park Avenue will remain partially open during work hours. Beginning near the corner of Main Street, the contractor will work in 100-linear-foot sections, the street will fully reopen each night, and there will be no weekend work. Minor parking disruptions may occur during parts of the project.
The Clary Court sidewalk repairs have been moved up and begin Monday, with the revised work plan posted by the town. Parking deck repairs at the Blowing Rock Art and History Museum begin Nov. 2, with the deck expected to close for about two weeks.
