The Watauga County Sheriff's Office has announced the passing of K9 Elvis.
“It is with great sadness that we report the loss of K9 Elvis today. Elvis has always been a huge part of the community, even when he and his handler, Lt. Rick Ruppert, retired last February from the WCSO. Elvis was a loyal companion and friend to many children of the High Country. He had been a faithful partner to Lt. Ruppert for over 10 years. Fly high over that rainbow bridge, sweet Elvis.”
