Topic: Community Bus Stops and Welcoming Students Back
We are excited to welcome all of our students back to school on Thursday! In anticipation of getting back to school, we have a few notes for our families and community.
First, we would like to thank all of the businesses that have allowed us to use their parking lots for stops and bus turnarounds. Without their cooperation, we would not be able to resume classes so quickly.
Second, we have a few reminders about community bus stop protocols and safety. Because we are utilizing so many of our community businesses as stop sites, we ask that you do not arrive at the community stop any earlier than ten (10) minutes before the scheduled bus time. Please keep in mind that many of these businesses will either be opening for business or be in the middle of their normal business hours. Once the bus arrives, there will be a seven (7) minute window for buses to wait for students. After this time, the bus will continue to the next community stop. Until further notice, bus transportation will utilize community stops only. Due to our available bus capacity and timing schedule, there will be no door-to-door stops. In conjunction with DOT, every effort will be made to re-evaluate our ability to extend routes as quickly as possible. Morning stops will be for both K-8 and high school students. As a reminder, all approved adults picking up students should have an ID ready to present at the community sites.
Lastly, you should receive communication from your school this evening regarding the location and time of your drop off and pick up site. Should you have any questions about the community stops, timing, or need to be added to a stop, please contact your school’s principal. A full list of community stops with times will be posted on our Transportation Website by Wednesday at noon.
