Based on today’s presidential proclamation, Governor Pat McCrory ordered all United States and North Carolina flags at state facilities to be lowered to half-staff until sunset on Saturday, July 25, 2015. This order is to honor the victims of the tragedy in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Private citizens are being asked to follow this order as well.
“We are eternally grateful for the risks and sacrifices the men and women of our military bear each time they put on the uniform, regardless of where they serve,” Governor McCrory said. “All of North Carolina is heartbroken over the tragedy in Chattanooga. We are praying for the victims and their families, as well as for the safety of every American soldier, marine, airman, sailor and those serving in the Coast Guard, here in North Carolina and throughout the world.”
