BOONE — The Town of Boone and the Boone Police Department are partnering on a downtown graffiti cleanup initiative and are asking community members for help identifying problem areas.
The Boone Police Department will bring on an intern this summer to coordinate and support a community graffiti cleanup event later this year. The intern officially starts the week of June 2.
In the meantime, town officials are gathering information from downtown stakeholders about graffiti locations, impacted properties and recurring issues so a coordinated plan can be developed.

“The more information we can collect early on, the better prepared we will be as we begin organizing cleanup efforts and identifying priorities,” said Lane Moody with the Town of Boone’s Downtown Boone Development Association.
