Due to a Winter Storm Warning for the area through Saturday afternoon, and for the safety of those involved, the Town of Boone has cancelled the Christmas Parade for Saturday.
According to a press release from the Town, the latest forecast includes increased snow, freezing temperatures and the potential for dangerous road conditions.
While the parade is cancelled, most downtown businesses will still be open, and the Town invites the public to visit the Jones House Cultural and Community Center for free cookies, hot cider, and hot chocolate. The Jones House is decorated for the holidays, including a special spot set up for taking family photographs.
