Three members of a family that lived in Todd were killed in a crash on a South Carolina interstate on Monday.

37-year-old Thomas Rusgrove, 14-year-old Esther Rusgrove and 11-year-old Jennie Ruth Rusgrove, with a listed address of Longhope Road in Todd, were killed in the Monday afternoon crash on Interstate 26 in Orangeburg County, according to media reports out of South Carolina.

The wreck involved a 2011 Freightliner tractor-trailer that crossed over the median and struck a 2008 Toyota van head-on at mile marker 154, according to S.C. Highway Patrol Lance Cpl. David Jones.

The van had five occupants in total and a medical helicopter transported a fourth occupant of the van to a hospital to be treated for serious injuries, according to media reports from that area. EMS transported the driver of the tractor-trailer to a local hospital to be treated for injuries, media reports also say.

The investigation into the wreck continues.

Leslie Rusgrove, one of the two survivors, along with her son Ethan, age 16, is the Owner/Doula at Midnight Cry Birth Services, according to her Facebook page.

According to a statement posted on Leslie's Facebok page at 12:19pm today titled “**Update from Leslie's sister, Katelyn**” :

Ethan is doing great. He even played the guitar when a music therapy lady came yesterday. They also had him standing putting weight on 1 leg, trying to work with the broken pelvic area but it was a very short stand, but that was his 1st time with PT and he is doing great!
Leslie's brain injury is causing some concern with us and also she's having some heart issues that we're trying to find out what the problem is so,

*PLEASE PRAY SPECIFICALLY FOR HEALING OF HER BRAIN AND HEART.*

Last night, Leslie wasn't breathing well- not getting good deep breaths. They are putting her back on the ventilator. ?
Ethan was moved last night to a step down unit which is good. But he is ready to leave.

A GoFundMe page has been set up to help.

Funeral arrangements are pending from Conner-Bowman Funeral Home and Crematory in Rocky Mount, Virginia
