BANNER ELK – An N.C. Department of Transportation contractor will continue placing precast culvert sections on N.C. 184 tonight.
Beginning at 6 p.m., crews from Blythe Construction will close one lane of N.C. 184 near Dobbins Road to continue installing sections of the new culvert that will carry Hanging Rock Creek under N.C. 184. Crews began the installation Monday night.
All construction to replace the original structure, which Hurricane Helene damaged, is expected to finish later this year.
Drivers are encouraged to plan ahead, allow additional travel time, remain alert and drive with caution.
