UPDATE 10:10am Monday Nov 7 – According to Boone Police the investigation is ongoing and will take several days before a completed report with the details will be filed. WataugaOnline.com will continue to follow up as more information becomes available.
A multi-vehicle wreck delayed traffic on highway 421 in Boone for a time on Sunday morning.
Just before 10am EMS units were dispatched to the intersection of Industrial Park Drive and 421. According to scanner dispatches at the time, there were multiple pin ins and two medical helicopters were requested, one to Watauga High School and one to Watauga Medical Center. Boone Fire, Boone Police and Watauga Medics responded to the scene.
