Strong storms lead to power outages Thursday evening

UPDATED 6:34 pm – All Watauga outages have been restored according to Blue Ridge Energy's outage map.

Strong storms knocked down a large pine tree from outside of the right-of-way in the Laurel Branch area of Watauga County this afternoon. Crews were able to clear the tree and quickly restore power. ⛈️⛈️ pic.twitter.com/gqu0CDFBWI

Power outages stood at 1,103 at 5:39 pm.
