…STRONG THUNDERSTORMS WILL IMPACT MADISON…NORTHERN MITCHELL…
WEST CENTRAL AVERY AND NORTHERN YANCEY COUNTIES THROUGH 715 PM EDT…

At 639 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along
a line extending from 3 miles southwest of Erwin to 11 miles north of
Marshall to 17 miles southeast of Newport. Movement was southeast at
30 mph.

HAZARD…Wind gusts up to 50 mph and pea size hail.

SOURCE…Radar indicated.

IMPACT…Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to outdoor objects is
possible.

Locations impacted include…
Marshall, Hot Springs, Bakersville, Mars Hill, Buladean, Ramseytown,
Green Mountain, Swiss, Max Patch, and Faust.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS…

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.
