of Madison, Mitchell, Avery, northern Buncombe and Yancey Counties
through 630 PM EST…
At 552 PM EST, Doppler radar was tracking shower and thunderstorms
along a line extending from 5 miles northeast of Erwin to 15 miles
west of Marshall. Movement was east at 55 mph.
HAZARD…Wind gusts up to 40 mph.
SOURCE…Radar indicated.
IMPACT…Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects.
Locations impacted include…
Spruce Pine, Burnsville, Marshall, Newland, Woodfin, Weaverville,
Mars Hill, Banner Elk, Hot Springs and Elk Park.
