    Avery County in western North Carolina…

  • Until 630 PM EDT.
  • At 540 PM EDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line
    extending from 9 miles southwest of Spruce Pine to 9 miles east of
    Morganton, moving north at 50 mph.

HAZARD…60 mph wind gusts.

SOURCE…Radar indicated.

IMPACT…Expect damage to trees and power lines.

  • Locations impacted include…
    Lenoir, Morganton, Spruce Pine, Newland, Longview, Sawmills,
    Granite Falls, Valdese, Gamewell and Bethlehem.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS…

A few trees and power lines will be blown down in the warned area.
Storms will be accompanied by brief heavy rainfall, and little or no
lightning. Seek shelter inside an interior room.
