Highway 321 just outside the Boone city limits was partially closed for over an hour on Saturday night (Aug 16,2014) due to a wreck.
The accident involving a motorcycle and another vehicle, in the sharp curve near the old Elk Motel, caused southbound traffic to be diverted onto Fairway Drive for a time. The accident occurred just before 9pm and all lanes were open as of 10:24pm.

9pm – Accident with injuries US HWY 321 S in sharp curve near old Elk Motel. Emergency equipment on scene.
9:04pm – southbound traffic on 321 being diverted across Fairway Drive due to a accident at 2600 block of 321 south, at the old Elk Motel sharp curve.
10pm – All southbound lanes of 321 are still closed, only 1 northbound lane is open. Motorists are urged to seek another route if possible.
10:24pm – All lanes are now open on 321.
