A 0.1 mile section of Possum Hollow Road near Valley Boulevard (Highway 321) in Blowing Rock will be closed starting Monday September 21, 2015. The work is expected to take three weeks to complete. This closure is necessary to allow Blue Ridge Electric Membership Corporation (BREMCO) to bury power lines in the vicinity of the closure. BREMCO’s work will take place during the day from Monday to Friday. It is expected that this section of roadway will be closed to traffic from Monday to Friday, but it will be open to traffic on the weekends. No customers are expected to be without power at any time as a result of this work taking place.
Available detours for those who normally use Possum Hollow Drive to access Highway 321 may do so via Sunset Drive or the Blue Ridge Parkway via Green Hill Road. Those going to Possum Hollow Antiques may get there by using eastern end of Possum Hollow Road from Sunset Drive.
