The storms that passed through the area Sunday night/Monday morning are blamed for power outages in Watauga and Ashe, and for starting a house fire in Fleetwood.
National Weather Service confirms a house fire reported at 12:55am on Gap Trail was started by lightning strike.
Facebook reports of at least 2 down power lines in Vilas lead to at least 200 BREMCO members without power.
