Outage Restoration Nears Completion from Severe Overnight Storm

Last Updated on October 15, 2014 11:21 am

Blue Ridge Electric linemen are almost finished with power restoration to the final members affected by last evening's heavy rains and high winds that pulled trees and limbs onto power lines.

A high of 4,079 members were affected overnight, primarily in Watauga and Ashe counties. Crews from Caldwell and Alleghany counties were dispatched to help with restoration efforts and crews worked throughout the night. Several poles and pole tops were reported broken which caused longer restoration times than normal.

Blue Ridge Electric members can report outages by calling the cooperative's PowerLine at 1-800-448-2383.
