RALEIGH – A problem with N.C. Department of Revenue computers has resulted in an interruption of some services at license plate agencies across the state this afternoon.
Officials at NCDOR report the problem is with computers used to process vehicle tax payments at NCDMV license plate agencies, resulting in an interruption of service providing license plates and renewal stickers if customers have a change to their registration information.
The service interruption is also affecting selected DMV online vehicle registration services. Driver license offices across the state and online driver services are not affected by the interruption.
State Department of Revenue officials estimate it could be several hours before the problem is corrected.
