Man Charged With Hitting Boone Police Vehicle While Impaired

On January 27, 2017, just before 12:45 AM, a Boone Police Department vehicle was struck while stationary in the 400 block of King Street.  The officer was outside of his vehicle at the time of the impact and was not injured.  A passenger in the patrol car received minor injuries and was transported to Watauga Medical Center for evaluation.  He was released later in the morning.  A passenger in a third vehicle also received minor injuries and was transported to Watauga Medical Center.

As a result of the incident the following individual was arrested:

Cody Edward Dombrowski, 26 years-of-age of Clint Norris Road, Boone, NC

Mr. Dombrowski was charged with Misdemeanor Driving While Impaired, Misdemeanor Failure to Comply with Driver’s License Restriction, Misdemeanor Careless and Reckless Driving, and Misdemeanor Failure to Reduce Speed to Avoid a Collision.  Mr. Dombrowski received a $5,000 secured bond pending a February 27, 2017, appearance in Watauga District Court.
