During the afternoon on New Years Eve members from Linville Central Rescue, Linville Volunteer Fire Department , Ems Avery , Avery County Fire Marshal/Emergency Management and Grandfather Mountain State Park responded to a report of an injured hiker on Profile trail. Crews hiked out and made contact with the subject, provided appropriate initial treatment then packaged them in a stokes basket and moved them to the trail head and there awaiting family.
