UPDATE 5:18 am – NRL&P says that power is fully restored. They also add, “If you are still experiencing issues, please check your circuit breaker panel first. If you're still without power, please call 828-264-3671. Non-business hours outage calls are forwarded to App State Police.”
UPDATE 4:57 am – Some portions of Boone are restored according to social media comments. WataugaOnline will update as more locations are restored.
A large power outage has been reported by New River Light & Power.
Just before 3 am NRL&P stated, “We are aware of a large outage affecting parts of downtown Boone, west side of Boone, HWY 105 and Poplar Grove areas. Our crews are responding.”
At 4am the company posted via social media, “4 AM UPDATE: Our crews are continuing to work to restore power.”
