The National Weather Service has issued a Flood Watch in effect through Wednesday (Dec 2, 2015) for Watauga County. 2 to 3 inches of rain is possible, with the heaviest occurring on Tuesday night. Small creeks and streams may rise above bank full the Weather Service notes. Motorist are encouraged to be aware of the typical flood prone areas in the county, and advised not to park or drive across flood covered areas.
