* Until 645 PM EST
* At 1248 PM EST, Doppler radar continued to show moderate rain over
the North Carolina mountains into southwest Virginia. Stream and
river gages are rising rapidly, and the Watauga River at Sugar
Grove in Watauga County has already risen above flood stage.
* Another third to three-quarters of an inch on top of what has
already fallen since Friday will keep the threat of flooding going
through the afternoon.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS…
Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause flooding of small
creeks and streams, country roads, farmland, and other low lying
spots.
The rains may trigger rockslides, mudslides and debris flows in steep
terrain.
When it is safe to do so, please send your reports of flooding,
including mudslides or flooded roads, to the National Weather Service
