Governor Pat McCrory has ordered all North Carolina flags at state facilities to be lowered to half-staff from sunrise on Monday, February 9, 2015 to sunset on Wednesday, February 11, 2015. This order is in memorial of former University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill Men’s Basketball Coach Dean Smith.
“Ann and I were deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Coach Smith. Coach Smith is a legend on and off the court and his life will leave a lasting legacy at Chapel Hill and across the state and nation. May the skies shine Carolina Blue in your honor Coach,” said Governor Pat McCrory.
