4:23pm – USGS is reporting a 2.6 quake, 2 miles NNE of Blowing Rock. Reports from Facebook indicate that residents all across Watauga felt the tremble. More information as it becomes available.
4:44pm – USGS has upgraded the quake to 2.9 epicenter located 2 miles NNE of Blowing Rock
UPDATED 7:46pm – there are no reports of damage, via social media, from Sunday's earthquake near Blowing Rock.

David, the most complexing part of this today was the rumble of it. Not as much shaking but it sounded like a minor bomb going off underground. I’m working on a article that explains why that is in the mountains. The other two quakes were shaking but no rumbles.
I think it would be the same thing if any west coast California city, LA or San Fran, got hit by huge snow storm. On the east coast we would laugh at them ya know

However were we to ever get a 4 or 5 here it would play hell on some of these homes built on mtn sides I think
No homes here are built to “earthquake standards” a 4 would do more than some think, but then again what I do I really know about that topic. You are more the expert than I

Probably from from all that construction. The mountains have spoken lol
