More Charges Filed In Archie Carroll Road Shooting

On May 30, 2017, at approximately 6:06 PM the Watauga County Communications Center received a 911 call in reference to a female with gunshot wounds at 415 Archie Carroll Road, Boone, North Carolina. Watauga County Sheriff Officers, Boone Fire Department and Watauga Medics responded to assist with the incident. The female was transported to Johnson City Medical Center for medical services.

An investigation into this incident started immediately and was conducted by the Watauga County Sheriff’s Office and the Watauga County Department of Social Services. Numerous interviews were conducted and information was gathered pertaining to this incident.

On May 31, 2017, as a result of the initial investigation and in consultation with the 24th Judicial District Attorney’s Office Justin Martin Williams, W/M, age 29, and a resident of 415 Archie Carroll Road, Boone, NC 28607 was charged with Assault with a Deadly Weapon Inflicting Serious Injury with Intent to Kill. He was arrested and taken before a Watauga County Magistrate where he was given no bond and a court date of July 18, 2017.

On May 31, 2017, Justin Martin Williams was taken before a Watauga County District Court Judge and given a $250,000.00 bond on the Assault with a Deadly Weapon Inflicting Serious Injury with Intent to Kill charge.

Watauga County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Unit, Watauga County Department of Social Services, and Children’s Advocacy Center of the Blue Ridge continued to investigate this incident. Additional interviews were conducted and more information was gathered pertaining to this incident and Justin Martin Williams involvement with the incident.

On June 5, 2017, as a result of the additional investigation information, Watauga County Sheriff’s Office in consultation with the 24th Judicial District Attorney’s Office charged Justin Martin Williams with Assault by Strangulation, two counts of Assault with a Deadly Weapon with a Minor Present and Attempted First Degree Murder. He was arrested and taken before a Watauga County Magistrate where he was given $500,000.00 bond and a court date of July 18, 2017.
