The Blue Ridge Parkway has announced the 2018 opening dates.
A reminder that the Linn Cove Viaduct at Grandfather Mountain is closed until May 24 for repaving and repairs. A traffic detour is in place from milepost 298.6 (Holloway Mountain Road) to Milepost 305.1 (U.S. 221). Gates will be located at milepost 303.6, Wilson Creek Overlook on the north and milepost 305.1, U.S. 221 on the south end of the work zone. Within the closed area, including the trail areas beneath the viaduct, the Parkway will be closed to motorists, cyclists, and pedestrians.
In the High Country portion of the Parkway:
Price Park Campground opens April 6 to October 28. Reservations are available on recreation.gov for May 20 – October 20. All sites are first-come, first-served until May 20 and during the last week in October. From April 6 – May 19, only Loop A will be open.
Linville Falls Campground opens April 6 to October 28. Reservations are available on recreation.gov for May 20 – October 20. All sites are first-come, first-served until May 20 and during the last week in October.

Campgrounds
Advance reservations available on www.recreation.gov. During the last week in October, all campgrounds operate on a first-come, first-served basis. Last night of camping is October 28, 2018. Campers must check out by noon on October 29. New firewood regulations are in effect.
Please note that limited services may be available earlier in the season. Additional details concerning opening dates will be available by April 1.
