Blue Ridge Electric linemen returned home this past Sunday after serving since Oct. 7 to help the coastal area of North Carolina in Brunswick County. Crews last week also assisted in Horry County South Carolina to repair damages and restore outages, according to Renee Whitener with Blue Ridge Electric. The co-op sent 24 linemen and other technical staff and also agreed to have 24 members of the technical contract crews released to help the devastated areas.
At the height of the North Carolina statewide outages North Carolina Emergency Management said that outages exceeded more than 800,000.
