Since 2019, Blue Ridge Conservancy’s strong financial health and commitment to accountability and transparency has earned it a 4-star rating from Charity Navigator, America’s largest independent charity evaluator. In the newest assessment, BRC jumped from a 92% to 99% rating, meaning donors can “give with confidence.”
“We are very proud that our Charity Navigator rating increased to 99% earning the highest possible Four-Star Charity designation. BRC stewards and protects land, but we are also stewards of the donations entrusted to us by our supporters,” says BRC Development Director Scott Elliott. “We hold ourselves to the highest professional standards through efficient and impactful use of our funds and with clear transparency of our business operations. When donors trust us with their gifts, no matter how big or small the amount, they can count on us to use that money responsibly and with the greatest impact. BRC is urgently saving the places you love, and there is not a minute or a penny to waste.”
Since 2002, Charity Navigator has awarded only the most responsible organizations a 4-star rating. The ratings are assigned based on scores in the areas of Impact & Results, Accountability & Finance, Leadership & Adaptability, and Culture & Community.
