Ashe Sheriff’s Office arrest husband and wife for Trafficking in Methamphetamine

LANSING, N.C. – Sheriff B. Phil Howell announces the arrest of husband and wife for
Trafficking in Methamphetamine. Scott Ashley Stout, 43-year-old of Lansing, and
Christina Ruth Stout, 50-year-old of Lansing.

On December 11th, 2024, Ashe County Sheriff's Deputy Cody Dancy was patrolling the
Fleetwood area when he noticed a vehicle in violation of the law. Dancy initiated a
traffic stop and found the driver and passenger, identified as Scott and Christina
Stout; due to the circumstances of the stop, K9 Sgt. Volger arrived on the scene. K9
Rhino was deployed for an open-air stiff and alerted at two different areas of the
vehicle. Deputies began searching the vehicle, and a large amount of crystal
substance, later identified as Methamphetamine, was discovered. The substance will
be sent to the NCSBI lab for further testing.

Deputies seized approximately 1.1 pounds (499 grams) of Methamphetamine. Deputies transported Scott and Christina Stout to the Ashe County Detention Center without further incident.
Scott Ashley Stout, age 43, of Lansing, was placed under a $1,000,000
secured bond. His charges include:
2 Felony Counts of Trafficking in Methamphetamine

Felony Conspire Trafficking Methamphetamine

Christina Ruth Stout, age 50, of Lansing, was placed under a
$1,000,000 secured bond. Her charges include:

  • 2 Felony Counts of Trafficking in Methamphetamine
  • Felony Conspire Trafficking Methamphetamine
