The 105 bridge in Watauga County will be named in honor of fallen Watauga County Sheriff’s Deputy Logan S. Fox. The naming is the result of a Resolution passed by the North Carolina Department of Transportation at their Board of Transportation meeting on March 6th.
Among those attending the meeting were NC Attorney General Jeff Jackson, Back the Blue NC Founder and CEO Lindsay LiCausi and Logan's father, and Back the Blue NC Western Region Co-Chair, Timothy Fox who was able to attend virtually.
In remarks to the Board, LiCausi expressed deep appreciation for this dedication and the board’s commitment to honoring North Carolina’s fallen heroes. Having worked closely with Timothy Fox, this was a bittersweet and deeply personal moment for all in attendance, LiCausi also noted.
“We extend our gratitude to NCDOT and all those who helped make this tribute possible. This bridge serves as a symbol of remembrance, respect, and gratitude for a brave officer who gave his life in service to his community.”, LiCausi stated.
K-9 Deputy Logan Fox and Sgt. Chris Ward were killed during a welfare check on April 28, 2021. A bridge naming for Sgt. Ward took place along Highway 321 in Sugar Grove on May 3, 2024.
In the Resolution the Board noted that appropriate signs will be erected at a suitable time.
