A Zionville man died in a motorcycle accident near his home on Sunday afternoon (Jan 13,2012), after passing another motorcyclist left of center.
The accident happen on old highway 421. Christopher Thomas Higgins, age 51, was passing another motorcycle when he lost control, traveled off the left side of the road into a ditch and struck a culvert. Higgins was thrown from the motorcycle, which overturned several times.
Higgins was taken to Watauga Medical Center but was unable to be revived.
