Woods fire in Stony Fork late Sunday night

Multiple agencies responded to a woods fire late Sunday night.

The fire, in the Stony Fork community, was dispatched out just after 9 pm. The fire was over 10 acres in size, no homes were threatened and no injuries were reported. The cause is unknown at this time, according to Andrew Harsey with the North Carolina Forest Service.

Deep Gap Fire, NC Forest Service, Boone Fire, Watauga Rescue Squad, and Watauga Emergency Services all responded to the scene.
