Wilkes County Man Charged With Multiple Counts of Indecent Liberties With a Child, One Offense Occurred In Watauga County

A Wilkes County man is charged with multiple counts of indecent liberties with a child, including an offense that occured in Watauga County.

Michael Scott Hoover, 49, was arrested Thursday night (Aug 15) at his home on Haymeadow Ridge Road in the Hays community, the Wilkes Journal-Patriot reports.

Hoover is charged 10 counts of indecent liberties with a child and one count of attempted indecent liberties with a child in a case involving four different victims, the report goes on to say.

The State Bureau of Investigation has also charged Hoover with two counts of indecent liberties with a child for an offense in Watauga County and Forsyth County. Both offenses involved two different victimes.

The offenses occurred over the last two years, all of the victims were between ages 12 and 17, and all of the victims were family acquaintances but not relatives, the report goes on to say.

Hoover is being held in the Wilkes County Jail with a $200,000 secured bond.
