Two people are in the Watauga County Detention Center after a gas drive off in Boone. According to the Sheriff's report, Deputies received a BOLO (Be On The Lookout) from Boone Police in regards to a gas drive off from the Speedway on Highway 105 South on Wednesday (March 30,2016).
The suspect vehicle traveled south on Highway 105 towards Avery County when a Deputy spotted the vehicle. Along with another Deputy, the vehicle was stopped in the 800 block of Broadstone Road. The driver lead officers on a short foot chase after exiting the car and fleeing on foot.
The driver, Steven Sisk, and passenger Stephanie Burnett were arrested for possessing counterfeit currency, larceny of motor fuel, uttering forged instrument and Felony Conspiracy. Both were placed in detention under a $75,000 bond.
