Watauga Medical Center Loses Air Conditioning Monday

Last Updated on July 9, 2019 6:30 pm

On Monday morning a representative from Appalachian Regional Healthcare System contacted our office to inform us that most of the building at Watauga Medical Center was without air conditioning.

We immediately started working with hospital staff to find alternatives for air. Thanks to numerous local and state agencies, we were able to bring in around 15 mobile air condition units to place throughout the hospital.

We would like to say thank you to North Carolina Emergency Management, Wake Forest Baptist Health and the State Medical Assistance Team, Charlotte Fire Department, Davie County EM, Caldwell County Emergency Services, Blowing Rock Police Department, and Avery County EM for their assistance in bringing us the mobile units and generators. Great teamwork by all!
