Two Separate Power Outages Impact 194 In Valle Crucis & 194 at Ray Brown Road on Thursday

A tree across power lines and a car accident lead to power outages on opposites sides of the county on Thursday.

A dead tree fell on power lines at the intersection of Highway 194 South and Clark's Creek Road in Valle Crucis at 3:27 pm. 506 Blue Ridge Energy members were affected. All outages were restored at 5:42 pm.

The second outage began at 7:17 pm in the area of the intersection of Highway 194 & Ray Brown Road, on the opposite side of the county, due to a car accident. 9 BRE members were affected and power was fully restored at 8:10 pm. Blue Ridge Energy reminds members to report an outage anytime via the PowerLine number at 1-800-448-2383.
