Two Arrested In Meth Seizure

On June 11, 2013, narcotics detectives from the Watauga County Sheriff’s Office Special Operations Division arrested two individuals after conducting further investigation from the 9 ounces of methamphetamine seized on June 10.

William Clyde Townsend, 34, of 1239 Landmark Lane, Lenoir, NC, was charged with Trafficking in Methamphetamine. Townsend was held at the Watauga County Detention Facility in lieu of a $45,000 secured bond. He is scheduled to appear in District Court on July 29, 2013.

Ralph Garlan Prestwood, 48, of 2035 Zack’s Fork Road, Lenoir, NC, was charged with Simple Possession Schedule IV Clonazapam, Possession Schedule II Oxycodone, and Alter/Steal/Destroy Criminal Evidence. Prestwood was held at the Watauga County Detention Facility in lieu of a $2,500 secured bond. He is scheduled to appear in District Court on July 29, 2013.

The case is still being investigated and more arrests are expected.
