Avery County Sheriff Danny Phillips announces the arrest of three individuals following an investigation into drug activity in the Newland area.
On January 30, 2022, Detectives with the Avery County Sheriff’s Office received a search warrant for a residence located at 151 Bertie St. Members of the Avery County Special Response Team served the warrant and located over 30 grams of Methamphetamine, and made three arrests.
The following suspects have been charged:
Beverly Harmon – Trafficking Methamphetamine, PWISD Methamphetamine
Donna Carpenter – Trafficking Methamphetamine, PWISD Methamphetamine, Maintain a Dwelling
Nicholas Ward – Trafficking Methamphetamine, PWISD Methamphetamine
