On December 24, 2012, Watauga County Sheriff’s Office received a report of possible missing funds from the Watauga Humane Society located at 312 Paws Way, Boone. Money and checks were reportedly taken from the agency.
The Watauga County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Unit conducted an investigation into the incident and as a result arrested Christine Clarke, 45, of 143 Fawn Drive, Boone. She was charged with five counts of felony Larceny by an Employee, and given a $20,000.00 unsecured bond. She is scheduled to appear in count on February 26, 2013.
